I am searching for information about my mother's family. Most of my maternal relatives are deceased.
My grandfather, Edward Monroe Fuller, according to family stories, was an Irish orphan. He was an orphan train rider, (as far as we know)
Our family word of mouth history says he was put on one of the orphan trains in New York and sent to Edwardsville Illinois.
It is said he was a part of the Irish that came to New York during the potato famine. How and when he came to be orphaned, or if he was actually an orphan is not known.
He lived in Southern Illinios most of his life and served in WW1.
He married Zella Stapleton and father 3 children who grew to adulthood. One of his sons died as a baby. His children were: Ralph Monroe (deceased), Ralph had several children but the only ones I am familiar with are Larry Monroe and Myrna.
Leroy, known as Jack who had one daughter, Jeanette, I am trying to contact Jeanette, who as far as I know is still a Fuller and lives in Cahokia Ill.
My mother Dorothy Fuller, no middle name (deceased). Dorothy was married to Clyde V Dunn, they had 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls. One of which is me!
My grandfather, Edward Fuller died in an accident on October 14, 1928 at Cairo Illinois. He was an engineer on the bridge that was being built between Cairo Illinois and Kentucky. He fell from the bridge and died.
On the maternal side of my mother's family, not much is known either. My grandmother, wife of Edward Fuller, was born Zella Stapleton. Her father was William Andrew.
I won't say much about the Stapletons here. Just that Grannys father was as far as we know, never married. His children were from his relationship with an unknown full blooded Indian woman.
I will look for a Stapleton group to post the Stapleton family too.
I really don't have much hope of finding any information about my family here.
But, my sister told me that Jeanette Fuller's dad was compiling family information before he passed away. I would really like to contact Jeanette. Or my cousin Larry Fuller to glean any information they might have.
