I am searching for information regarding the family of John Franklin from Washington, Indiana. After seven years of searching, I have uncovered limited information. John was born in Hessen-Darmstadt German around 1823/24. He came to the US with his mother, Elizabeth, around 1831, after the death of his father, Christopher. The name was not originally Franklin, but was anglicized upon arrival in the US. John came to Daviess County and married Laura Jane Ragsdale, daughter of Larkin Ragsdale.
