Born in England in 1700's. Believed to have lived in VA andis died in Wilmington, NC.

James Flowers was a man of means. My understanding is that his 1st wife was Marianna (my line) and they had twins (1-a girl-died.
She was the Widow of cousin of James Flowers. This cousin's name was John Gibbs.(No children that I am aware of.
James and John had been close -traveling thru NC and TN together and having land/assests in both states.
When the male(twin)child of Marianna and James lived --they named him JOHN GIBBS FLOWERS,
Now is the part I am unsure of---My records indicate that Marianna died before the birth of other children. James Flowers remarried. I do not know this wife's name. They had 11? children--all of whom grew up in NC.
John Gibb Flowers moved to West TN. Living in Haywood County and then Tipton County, TN. He married Mary Jane Cotten/Cotton. She was a direct decendent of Thomas Robinson Mumford. This line can be followed on/on.
I have references to a David Flowers who was the 1/2 brother of John Gibb Flowers moving into West TN. at some point. He may be the one in my line who moved on to Miss.
