Benjamin Dodge was a Master Silkweaver and Dyer of the Shoreditch, East London, area. He was baptised 1813 and died around 1878. His parents were Benjamin Dodge and Mary Turner. He married Elizabeth Noquet in February 1842 at St Leonard's Shoreditch. Their son was William Benjamin Dodge born 1843, and a daughter Maria, born 1845. Later they had other children, including Joseph. For business reasons, Benjamin changed the family name to that of his wife, Elizabeth, whose family were also silkweavers and dyers. In his Will, he left his business to William on condition that he and all the children were to be known as Noquet.
His own parents, Benjamin Dodge and Mary Turner, were married at St Botolph's Bishopsgate, which is still there, a few minutes walk from Liverpool Street Station London (Bishopsgate exit). I have visited St Botolph's (before I knew my ancestors were married there) and can thoroughly recommend it.
