Hi Dan, my name is Linda (Diemert) Lawson and I have the information you are searching. Antonious (born Frantz Antoni) was born 17 Jan 1788 in Detwiller France and died 20 Jan 1852 in Wellesley, Ontario. He was know as Anthony in Ontario which I shall refer to him as such in my notes on his family. Anthony and his father Jean and grandfather Florent were all shoemakers in Detwiller, France. Anthony and wife Maria (Nussman) emigrated from Detwiller, France to Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada in 1831. They sailed from Le Havre, France, on the ship Charlemagne (I have a picture of this ship if you would like one) and arrived in New York on 22 Sept 1831. Children present were Anthony,Maria,John,Andrew (my grandfather) and Fracnes Joseph (he was born on 4 May 1830 in Detwiller). They headed for a settlement called Berlin which was a large German settlement later called Kitchener. They settled in a town called Puslinch from 1831 to 1838. In 1848 Anthony lived in Wilmont township and by 1851 Anthony, Maria, Katehrine and Louis were living with son John and his family in Wellesley township, Waterloo County.
