Charles DeHaven (1835 - 1892) of Ohio and Missouri had two wives. The first was Mary Elizabeth Clark, who was the mother of his first six children (Stella, Charles, Lotte, Grace, Claud, Mabel). Sarah Murray was his second wife and the mother of the last two children (Alice and Murray). Sarah later remarries and becomes Sarah Ponders. Published books which do not show these relationships are wrong. Actually, Sarah would have been 5 years old when Stella was born. In my family, Sarah was known as Grandma Ponders. I have letters and articles, etc. to establish the correct facts.
