My Clark roots begin with Sherman Clark who shows up in Portage County, Ohio around 1820-1830. The 1850 Trumbull County, Ohio census indicates that he was born in Vermont; however, I have not been able to verify that. I have been unable to identify parents or siblings. I have a picture of two young men identified as George and John Clark, cousins of C.C.Clark taken about 1875-1885 in western Pennsylvania, so he must have had at least one brother. (CCClark was Sherman's son.)Sherman is buried at Saybrook, Ohio. He died in 1869. He had sons, Christopher and Harrison and daughters, Harriett Almeda who married Rev. B. F. Wade, Augusta A. who died as a young teen and Mary W. who married Orson Swetland. Would like to correspond with anyone with connections to this family.
