It seem's Clayton Clark and Roger Clayton Clark are the same person and sometimes R. C. Clark.
I'm thinking this is the father of Great Grandpa Roger Clayton Clark. Clayton Roger Clark frist lived near or around Logan County Arkansas becuase a Clayton Roger Clark owned lots of land there in 1839. Clayton Roger Clark b.1812 Maried Martha E. they had these children . This was in the 1850 census. (our Clayton 1856 and George 1864 wasn't born yet and if the Clarks stay true to the children bearing there hast to be at least two or three herds out there some where) Mary 1839 Lorenzo 1840 John 1840 Lorenzo 2 1843 William 1845 Frances 1847 (land he owned) CLARK CLAYTON R Logan 3 8N 24W 160 1839/09/20 CLARK CLAYTON R Logan 3 8N 24W 118.28 1838/08/20 (this is just a thought right now I'v made no connection but I do have papers coming from Arkansas that might shed some light one this.I can't seem to find him in the 1860 census or 1870. in the same township but still looking)
Then "My great gramdpa" Roger Clayton Clark married Margert (Maggie) Nelson in the 1880 census's he 24 she was 25. Everyone on this side of the family thought he married a Maggies Grimes but that was not right. They lived in Prairie Arkansas. Clayton and Margret had 15 children which in the 1900 census 11 are still living and they had been married 23 years at this time. Which means they got married around 1877. I know of these names only. 1880 C. E. Clark 1878 (this could be Charles) 1880 P. F. Clark 1879 (girl) there are no 1890 becuase of a fire. 1900 Marschal 1881 (info coming in on this one) 1900 Alonzo 1885 (info coming in on this one) 1900 Dora 1885-1968 1900 William Aurthur B 1892 in AR. Now in 1900 Clayton divorced Maggie. I have the divorce papers. All children went to Clayton except William the youngest went to live with mother. Later in 1900 Clayton Married my Great Grandmother Mary (Mack) Dodd. Clayton was 45 (not 38) at the time he married Mary(Dodd) Mack (I have that Lic.) I have pictures of Mary and Clayton on wedding day. They had three children , Alfred Clayton Clark, B. 1901 married Annabell unknown Clayton Lee Burton Clark, B. 1903 married Emma Helen Harden and had 7 children. Hazel Liney (Tiny) Clark my Grandmother. B. 1906 D. 1983 married Christian Suter 3 children. R. Clayton Clark died in 1906 from pulling a tooth. I have a paper asking the court to grant Mary Clayton all his stuff. This is not a Will. My grandmother said Clayton was Indian. I have found no prof of this yet. Even several cousin's have said they remember that the younger Clark Children (saying they grew up playing on a Indian Reservation). But no one seems to know who the Clark childern were. All the census say Roger Clayton Clark was Born in Arkansas when he was with Maggie. It was only when he married Mary things changed and in every census's she changed the birth place of Clayton once he was from Ireland. Can anyone add anymore or connect to the family. sharri e-mail wasswagler@yahoo.com
