My great-grandmother Alice may have been born a Butler 1837 and died 1867. She married my great-grandfather Thomas O'Brien (from Cork Ireland) in
1857 or 1858 in Monroeville or Sandusky, Ohio. She had all her children in Monroeville, Ohio where a woman known as "Grandma O'Brien" was a widow with grown children when she married a different Thomas O'Brien (close in age to ours) who was 20 years her junior. There are newspaper articles about the tragic deaths of two of Grandma O'Brien's children from her previous mariage. Their surname was Butler, and if our Alice was her daughter, we think Alice would then have been a Butler. The older woman Grdma (Butler)O'Brien we know was born in Dec. of 1799.
Would love to find out further information on this possible connection to our family.
