My husband's family lived and worked in Horsforth for most of the nineteenth century. Have got back as far as George b.1814 and his sister Ruth b.1816.
Their parents were Benjamin b.1793(?) and Elizabeth b.1797 (?) but I have not yet been able to locate a marriage for these two. George and Ruth may have had a sister, Christiana b.1819 who married Jonas Rawson and emigrated to the USA some time in the 1840s. We know George and Ruth were baptised in a non-conformist chapel but at that time their parents would have had to marry in CofE. Can anyone help please?
