My grandfather, Arthur William Brereton, was born in 13 May 1889, in New Haven, CT. There was only one family by the name of Brereton living there in the 1880's. The only name given for his father was Elias William Brereton. I have not seen this name ever, anywhere,and suspect Grandpa may not have known it as his mother, Marie Selk, remarried in 1895 to Henry Jude.
And herein lies my dilema. I am looking for any information on this Brereton family that might lead to information on my grandfather's father.
