My grandfather, Brooks Harmon Bell, was born in Washington County, Tennessee in 1879. He married my grandmother, Bessie Andress, in 1909 after meeting her in her hometown of Devers, Texas. I am trying to confirm a rumor repeated many times by my grandmother before her death that my grandfather (who died in 1931) had been married previously and had another family in Texas.
