I am searching for the license of Absalom/Absolom BAKER and Eleanor(WEBSTER?) Absalom was born in North Carolina and had settled in Madison County, Alabama by 1820 and died August of 1842. Eleanor was born in Virginia and had died by 1842 in Madison County,Alabama it is not known where either is buried tho my grandfather had told me that his great grandfather, John Webster Baker (1801KY-1890AL) the son of Absalom and Eleanor Baker was buried in Patterson Cemetary but I have not found this cemetary either. Absalom and Eleanor had lived many years in Kentucky before coming to Alabama, Green County, Lincoln, Bourbon Counties of Kentucky were areas known that they had lived. Tho I know this I so have not found a marriage license in Kentucky for them so I have moved my search to VA, GA, or TN or even possibly NC. They had a daughter, Rebecca Baker who married Joesph Fletcher ELLETT in Hardin County, TN, she was born in 1791KY and Absalom "wrote" and gave permission for the marriage to take place. I thought this a bit odd for in all the years that I have been researching this was the first time that I had came across a parent sending his permission for a marriage via a letter. There was note of a Robert Baker but I do not have any idea where or how he comes into the family, a brother to Rebecca? or to Absalom? Hope this sparks something with someone else.
