Does anyone have any new and accurate information relating to the parentage of Samuel Baker of Marshfield who married Eleanor (Ellen) Winslow? I have seen so many incorrect lineages posted and plastered all over the internet claiming his parentage as either Nicholas Baker Sr. (1610-1678) of Hingham/Hull/Scituate, MA or Alexander Baker (1607-1685) of Gloucester/Boston. Samuel Baker of Hull and later Barnstable, MA son of Nicholas married Fear Robinson, are well documented and could not be the Samuel of Marshfield. Samuel Baker son of Alexander Baker, who in his will of 1685 states he was blessed with twelve (12) children of which at the time only seven (7) remained alive and he names the seven which does not include Samuel. So this Samuel having died before 1685 could not have been the Samuel of Marshfield. rclantz@bellsouth.net
