1. BENJAMIN BAILEY was born 1775 in NC, and died 1837 in Elizabethtown, Jackson Co., AR. He married PAMELIA "Milly or Emillie" BAKER 1800 in Pendleton District, SC, daughter of WILLIAM BAKER and ELIZABETH BROWN. She was born 1780 in Pendleton, Anderson Co., SC, and died 30 July 1856 in Minden, Claiborne Parish, LA.

Benjamin was in SC in 1801, then in Alabama in 1805-1808, then in Madison Co. AL in 1811 (at the time this was (Miss. Territory) Deeds Madison Co., AL, p. 255. USA to Benjamin Bailey, 1811 Madison County Miss Territory. Section 11 Township 2 Range 1 East.
Was in the War of 1812 (see above) then applied for a land grant in Madison Co., AL in 1813.
Madison Co., AL Tract Book 9 Certificate #861. Benjamin Barley (Bailey) 18 Jan 1814, 159.58 ac in Northwest 1/4 Sect 33 Township 15 Range 1 West.
Madison Co., AL Deeds Huntsville Office, p. 149. James Latta the assignee of Benjamin Bailey on 30 Nov. 1816, Section 29 Township 1 Range 1 West.
Madison Co., AL, Deeds Bk "H" p. 734 Benjamin Bailey and Milly to James Atkins both of Madison Co. on 3 Dec 1823 for $1,000. the Northwest 1/4 of Section 33 Township 15 Range 1 West, 159.58 ac. (the land received in 1814). After selling this land in 1823, Benjamin went to Fayette Co., TN where he bought land. Deed Book "A" Fayette Co., TN p. 39. Benjamin Bailey of Fayette on the 5th Jan. 1826 buys 130 ac 46 poles on the North Fork of Wo9lf River in the 10rh District ERange 6 Section 1.
The 1830 census of Fayette Co., TN lists Benjamin Bailey age 40-50, wife age 40-50, son age 10-15, son age 15-20, son age 20-30, daughter age 5-10, 2 daughters age 10 &15. Other children may be married or not living at home at the time of the census.
Fayette Co. TN Deed Book "B" p. 96. Benjamin Bailey to Charles Brane on 1 Oct 1830, 130 ac & 46 poles on the North Fork of Wolf River for $1,000.
By 1837, Benjamin was in Jackson Co., AR, where he died, according to probate records.
Benjamin Bailey was in the War of 1812. The pension index has Benjamin Bailey, widow Milly; private under Captain Allen in the Tennessee Militia. No pension claim but bounty land warrants: wt103427-50, wt 52619-120-55.

In 1850 census Claiborne Parish, LA, Pamela was living with daughter Catherine & her husband Jesse Grounds. Listed as Milla Baily, age 70, born in SC. In pension index of husband Benjamin Bailey, she was listed as Milly.
