George Wells Allen was born Islington 1864, the son of James Allen, bootmaker/cordwainer bn circa 1822 in Cornwall or Guernsey, Channel Islands and his wife, Lucinda Jane Rolling .
He married Elizabeth Emma Tyrer,in Islington and had five children, three sons, Frederick, William, and Harold, and two daughters, Elizabeth and Gertrude.
